Air Note is a meeting recorder. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it plain on purpose.

Air Note (“we”, “us”) is operated by Harrison Jones. This policy applies to the Air Note iOS app and the airnoteapp.com website.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or browsing history. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers in the app.

How we use your data

We use your data only to provide and run Air Note: to authenticate you, store and sync your recordings and notes, generate summaries, run your subscription, and keep the service secure and reliable. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Turning recordings into notes

Air Note cannot transcribe or summarise a recording on its own. To do it, we send your content to a third-party AI service.

What we send, and to whom

We send the following to OpenAI, L.L.C., based in the United States:

OpenAI processes this content under contract, solely to return a result to Air Note. It is not used to train their models, and it is not used for their own purposes. OpenAI is contractually required to protect this content to a standard equal to the protections described in this policy, to process it only on our documented instructions, and to keep it confidential and secure.

We ask you first

Before any of this happens, Air Note asks you. The first time you start a recording, ask a question, or create an avatar, the app shows you what is sent and who it goes to, and you have to tap Continue before anything leaves your device. Nothing is sent to an AI service until you do. If you decline, Air Note will not create notes from your recordings — and you can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy policy.

Connecting Claude (optional)

Air Note can connect to Anthropic’s Claude so you can ask Claude about your notes. This connection is off unless you set it up yourself and approve it in the app. While it is connected, the notes Claude reads are sent to Anthropic at the moment you ask, and are handled under Anthropic’s own terms. You can disconnect it at any time in Settings.

Who processes data for us

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf under contract, each bound to protect it to a standard equal to this policy:

ProviderCountryWhat it doesWhat it receives
SupabaseUnited StatesHosting, database, file storage, authenticationEmail address, recordings, transcripts, notes, account identifier
OpenAI, L.L.C.United StatesTranscription, summaries, answers, illustrated avatarsAudio, transcripts, your questions, avatar photo (only if you create one)
RevenueCatUnited StatesSubscription and purchase statusAccount identifier, purchase status
AppleUnited StatesPayments and app deliveryPurchase and subscription data
AnthropicUnited StatesAnswering your questions in Claude — only if you connect it yourselfThe notes Claude reads when you ask

These providers are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. Where the law requires it, we rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard for that transfer.

How long we keep it

We keep your recordings, notes and account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual recordings and notes in the app at any time. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your data from our systems, subject to any retention we are legally required to keep.

Your choices

Children

Air Note is rated 4+ but is intended for a general, working audience. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
